6. Integral Term 2.................................. [It`2]
This is the Heating Integral Term (or “time”).
Set this to match the thermal response of the load being controlled. If set too low, it
may cause oscillation, however, if set too high, it may take a long time to reach the set
point temperature.
7. Derivative Term 2................................ [de`2]
This is the Heating Derivative Term.
This is a powerful term and setting it too high will make the system sluggish. Many
people choose to turn the Derivative Term off by setting it to 0.
8. Auto Tune.......................................[`aut]
Use Auto Tune to automatically set the PID parameters. Options allow setting either
Cooling or Heating individually, OR using both simultaneously.
[tune] This will output full heat and full cool and monitor the response times
to calculate the best settings for PID1 and PID2 parameters.
[pid1] This will output full cool and then turn off. Note: no heating current will
be applied. Make sure that the system will heat up by natural convection or by some
other means.
[pid2] This will output full heat and then turn off. Note: no cooling current will
be applied. Make sure that the system will cool back down by natural convection or by
some other means.
Note: This auto tune process when initiated will attempt to work around the set point
temperature that is programmed into the bottom display when at the Home postion
(press the ˆ button). The only exception to this is the [atsp] parameter. This is
the “Auto Tune Set Point” and defaults to 90%. This will take the set point and adjust it
for 90% of setting. Use this to avoid any damage to a sensitive load while auto tuning.
9. Auto Tune Limit 1................................ [atl1]
Some TEC’s are not rated for the Maximum output current of the Series 800/850 temperature
controller. Use this to limit the current during an Auto tune on the Cooling channel (output 1).
10. Auto Tune Limit 2................................ [atl2]
Some TEC’s are not rated for the Maximum output current of the Series 800/850 temperature
controller. Use this to limit the current during an Auto tune on the Heating channel (output 2).
