The AlphaCom II dialler can be delivered as a circuit board, or in a metal casing with power supply. The
AlphaCom II has, besides the RS-485 connection for the AlphaVision control panel, 8 digital inputs for
direct control, so the AlphaCom II can also be used on an “alien” control panel. The AlphaCom II dialler can
be used in situations where the ISDN connection is not near the control panel. The functionalities of the
AlphaCom II are similar to the AlphaCom Plug-on.
Up/downloading via ISDN
When you wish to up/download data from the AlphaVision NG, you can place an AlphaCom NG2 ISDN
plug-on dialler. This ISDN plug-on dialler has the same possibilities as the ‘regular’ AlphaCom plug-on
dialler with the only difference that the AlphaCom NG2 gives the possibility to up/download the
AlphaVision NG control panel. The difference between the AlphaCom NG2 and the ‘regular’ can easily be
spotted: The AlphaCom NG2 has a 1Mbit EPROM with 32 pins, the ‘regular’ AlphaCom has an EPROM
with 28 pins.
To be able to up/download the AlphaVision NG, the control panel needs to be at least of software version
2.0 (or higher). Also, the PC from which the remote programming is done, needs to have Alphamanager
installed and needs an ISDN RS-box. Up/downloading via ISDN is much faster than via a regular PSTN
line. A complete download via ISDN takes about one minute to complete.
The AlphaCom II dialler can be ordered with power supply and cabinet. Besides an RS-485 bus connection,
the AlphaCom II also has 8 digital inputs which can be used for direct control. The AlphaCom II can be used
in situations when the ISDN line (NT1) is not near the control panel, or when an ‘alien’ control panel is
used. The functions of the AlphaCom II are equal to the functions of the AlphaCom plug-on dialler (not to
the AlphaCom NG2 dialler).
DLM-100 GSM dialler
The DLM-100 GSM dialler is used to send alarm reports over the GSM net. The DLM-100 has an RS-485
connection for integration with the AlphaVision control panel. The DLM-100 can be used as a back-up
dialler, where it will be activated when the PSTN or ISDN line is cut off, or as the only dialler when there is
no PSTN or ISDN line available. In the last case, all reports are send over the GSM net. For wiring diagrams
and programming instructions, please see the DLM-100 manual.
