Most options speak for themselves, but we will explain some of them.
Option 4: is used to set the factory default values in the control panel and all present I/O and input + 8OC
modules. When starting up a new system it is VERY important to set the default values into the control
panel and the modules, so the control panel and the modules can start from a known programming.
When the control panel or expansion modules are powered up for the first time, the control panel and the
expansion modules will check whether the default values are set. If not, this will be done automatically. This
only applies to control panels with software version 1.0 or higher and expansion modules with software
version 4.0 or higher.
When the programming is not known any more, or when modules have been exchanged, it can be useful to
set the programming back to the factory defaults. When there are no expansion modules in the system,
option 5 can be selected. With option 5, only the factory defaults of the control panel are set back.
Option 6 is used to set the factory defaults in one of the I/O or input + 8OC modules. This option can be
used when a system is expanded with one or more expansion modules, so the factory defaults of only that
expansion module is set back.
Pay attention with the following situation: suppose an existing installation is expanded with a new
module. This module is connected and the programming is changed. When you now realize that you did not
set the factory defaults in the new module and you do this now with option 6, all changes made will be
undone. It is safer to close off with option 0 first (save changes), then return to the programming menu and
select option 6 (set factory defaults in one module). Now only the values for this module have to be
programmed again.
Option 1 is used to change the programming.
Option 2 is used to view the historical overview of the control panel. Use the > key to go forward one page
and use the < key to go back one page. With the <Home> and <End> keys, the historical overview is ended
and the programming returns to to the main menu.
Option 3 is used to add or edit user codes with the PC or laptop. For more information, see chapter
”Program user codes with the PC”.

Option 7 is used to copy the complete programming of the control panel to the computer and save it as a
file. The saved file contains the technical programming, such as zone names and settings, output
programming and dialler programming. The user codes are NOT saved. This is done on purpose, since the
users can change these codes themselves. With the AlphaManager up/download software it is possible to
save the user codes and historical overview.
