Attention: When the programming is changed, do not forget to execute option 0, to save the changed
settings into the control panel, before shutting down or saving the programming into the computer.
Attention: To use programming files with the AlphaManager software, all files must be saved as .BIN files!
Option 8 is used to copy programming files from the computer to the control panel. The AlphaManager
software can be used to prepare programming settings, which later can be send to the control panel. Before
this option is executed, the computer warns you with the following message:
Take care: transmission of a programfile from disk/harddisk to
control panel overwrites the current programming in the control panel!
Take care: there should exist any programfile on the disk/harddisk!
Do you really want to do this? (Y/N) :
With this option you can create a default programming, which can be used in every new installation. Think
of zone names that are always used, or the name of the installation company, output settings that are always
the same, telephone numbers that are always used, etc.
Option 9 is used to leave the programming. All changes made will not be saved and the control panel
reboots with the last saved programming.
Option 0 is used to save all changes made into the memory of the AlphaVision NG control panel. Even after
a reset or power loss, the programming will still be saved in the memory of the control panel. The
programming will remain in the circuit board, even when the circuit board has been powerless for ten years!
Initiating remote programming (up/download)
When remote programming is used, the user must give the control panel the command to dial the 9
th
telephone number, which is the callback-number. This is done by entering <?><8><#>, followed by a level
5 or higher user code. This telephone number is the number onto which the PC with AlphaManager can be
reached. Up and downloading with the AlphaVision NG control panel is only possible with the
AlphaManager software and the special RS-box. It is also possible to call the AlphaVision NG control panel
from the computer, instead of the other way around. For more information, see the explanation of screen 9 at
page 49 (RING-IN) or see the AlphaManager up/download manual.
When the AlphaVision NG is supplied with an AlphaCom NG2 plug-on dialler and up/downloading is
required, the call-back telephone number is programmed in the AlphaCom . In this case the 9th telephone
number in the AlphaVision NG should be left blank. When function 8 is executed, the AlphaCom calls the
remote computer.
