SIA LEVEL 2 (protocol 2)
The “regular” SIA protocol is a default American protocol. The information transmitted to the monitoring
station is nearly identical to the information send by the SIA-HS protocol, only the SIA protocol does not
send the programmed zone name along. The protocol itself is completely different. The transmitted data is
not encrypted and the handshake consists of single tones. The data transmission is slower than the SIA-HS
protocol, so it takes longer to finish a report. Therefore we recommend using the SIA 2 protocol only when
the monitoring station is not capable of receiving the SIA-HS protocol.
More information on the used SIA codes can be found in appendix B at page 91.
Attention: When the arming and disarming events should not be reported, and the SIA-HS or the SIA
Level 2 protocol is used, the value programmed in screen 4 under the DC column should be changed to 99.
REPORTING TO PRIVATE NUMBERS (protocol 3)
When reporting to private numbers using the private protocol, the AlphaVision NG control panel will call
out at every event at which the Dial Code is changed to something else than 00.
Example: When a burglary report in section A must be reported to the private number, you will have to
change the dial code value in screen 2 at Burglary, section A to something else than 00, for example 01 (see
below).

When the private protocol is used, all programmed telephone numbers must also have a fictive account
number, e.g. 4321. When you have not programmed an account number, the control panel will not call the
programmed number!
Important: Also, when there is NO separate transmission for each section, all telephone number locations,
also the ones in which no number has been programmed, must be set to protocol 3.

Resetting the call cycle when using the private protocol
When the AlphaVision NG control panel is expanded with a DTMF plug on board, the private reports can be
stopped using the DTMF keys on a telephone. When the programmed telephone number is called, a
distinctive signal is given. This signal is a 5 seconds long siren sound, followed by an 8 seconds silence. If
nothing happens, this is continued for a minute.

During the 8 seconds silence it is possible to enter a valid user code, followed by the <#> key. When the
control panel has accepted the code, a 3 seconds long tone will be given. Then the control panel stops calling
for the next 15 minutes. If after these 15 minutes there is another reason for calling out, for example in case
