USER MANUAL

Before reinserting the tube, pump it a little to shape it. Push the
valve nipple through the hole in the rim and insert the tube into
the tyre. Begin from the valve nipple and insert the tyre with
your fingers, moving in a circle to the right and the left. If you
encounter difficulty when inserting the last few centimetres of
the tyre, use tyre irons. Take care not to puncture the tube again
by pinching it against the rim with the tyre or a tyre lever.
CAUTION: When installing a tyre, if you use a
screwdriver or any other tool instead of special tyre levers,
there is a greater risk of puncturing tube.
Make sure that the tyre is sitting properly on both sides of the
rim and that the tube is not pinched between the rim and the
tyre. Pump the tyre to the recommended pressure (section
5.J.1), continually checking correct of insertion of the tube and
fitting of the tyre. Fit and tighten the lock nut on the valve nipple
and the cap. Install the wheel on the bicycle (see section 5.А).
2. If your spoke is broken
A wheel with a weakened or broken spoke is significantly
weaker than a properly tensioned wheel. If a spoke has broken
during a ride, you will need to slow down and ride home
carefully, because more spokes could break on the weakened
wheel and it will become completely unsuitable for riding.
Remove the broken spoke or wind it around an adjacent one to
prevent it from dangling and catching on the frame. Turn the
wheel and check whether the rim touches the brake pads. If it
does, you will need to loosen the brake with the cable tension
adjusting screw or even disconnect it. Walk home or, if
necessary, ride very carefully, because you will have only one
working brake.
C) IF YOU FALL
First of all, check whether you are okay and attend to any wounds as
far as possible. Then check damage to the bicycle and fix what is
possible.
After returning home, drive the bicycle to a qualified bicycle mechanic
for a thorough check.
WARNING: In a fall, bicycle parts can be subjected to
extraordinary stress, which can lead to premature material
fatigue. If you continue to use a worn-out component, it may
break suddenly and unexpectedly and lead to injury.
CHAPTER 7. OUTFIT AND ACCESSORIES
When the correct riding position on the bicycle is chosensize of the
frame, height and angle of the handlebar stem, and position and tilt of
the saddlethe saddle itself becomes the most important accessory
for comfort.
Comfort of the bicycle saddle depends more on the shape of the
saddle fitting the anatomy of the cyclist than on the saddle’s thickness
or padding material. Bicycle manufacturers choose the shape of the
saddle on the basis of the most comfortable option for the majority of
buyers of each model of the bicycle. But there is no guarantee that
this shape of saddle will be the most comfortable one for you. In good
bicycle shops, there are saddles of different shapes and padding,
made of different materials and at different prices. If the saddle on
your new bicycle seems uncomfortable, ask the salespeople to
recommend a replacement for you. If you plan to take rides for longer
than an hour, it’s worth buying a pair of bicycle gloves. Their padding
will protect your hands from handlebar vibration, and they will protect
you in the event of a fall.
