Why is my Ambient Weather Measuring Instruments remote sensor not reporting?
    • D
      Daniel ThomasJul 29, 2025
If communication is lost from any of the sensors, dashes (--.-) will appear on the console screen. To fix this, try the following: * Re-acquire the signal. * Ensure each sensor is on a different channel by checking the sensor’s LCD display. * Reduce the distance between the sensor and console, keeping it within the maximum line of sight range (300’ optimal, 100’ under most conditions). * Avoid placing the sensor too close to the console (less than 5’). * Verify the remote sensor LCD display is working and install fresh batteries (lithium for cold weather). * Ensure the sensor isn't transmitting through metal or earth barriers. * Move the console away from electronic devices and the sensor to a higher and closer location.

What to do if Ambient Weather Measuring Instruments temperature sensors do not agree?
    • A
      Alison FloresAug 5, 2025
Allow up to one hour for the sensors to stabilize because of signal filtering. Under worst-case conditions, the sensors should agree within 4 °F (with a sensor accuracy of ± 2 °F). You can also use the calibration feature to match the indoor and outdoor temperature to a known source.

What to do if Ambient Weather Measuring Instruments humidity sensors do not agree?
    • R
      Ryan Prince IIAug 13, 2025
Give the sensors about one hour to stabilize due to signal filtering. The indoor and outdoor humidity sensors should agree within 10 % (the sensor accuracy is ± 5 %) under worst case conditions.

Why does my Ambient Weather Measuring Instruments temperature sensor read too high?
    • D

Ensure the thermo-hygrometer is mounted in a shaded area on the north-facing wall. If this isn't possible, consider using a radiation shield.
