Chapter 1 — General GPIB Information
1-1 Introduction
This manual provides information for remote operation of the Series MG369xC Synthesized High Performance
Signal Generator using commands sent from an external controller via the IEEE-488 General Purpose
Interface Bus (GPIB).
1-2 Scope of Manual
This manual includes the following:
• A general description of the GPIB and the bus data transfer and control functions
• A listing of the IEEE-488 Interface Function Messages recognized by the signal generator with a
description of its response
• A complete listing and description of all MG369xC GPIB commands (i. e., Product Specific Commands)
that can be used to control signal generator operation with programming examples
This manual is intended to be used in conjunction with the Series MG369xC Synthesized Signal Generator
Operation Manual, P/N: 10370-10373. Refer to that manual for general information about the MG369xC,
including equipment set up and front panel (manual mode) operating instructions.
