1 Spare tire extension bracket
4 Reinforcement bracket
8 Clip nut, 8mm
8 Hex head cap screw,
M8 x 1.25" - 40, CL8.8
2 Hex head cap screw,
M8 x 1.25" - 60, CL8.8
8 Flat washer, M8
8 Lock washer, M8
3 Nylock nut, 1/2" - 20, grade 5
Tools Required
Ratchet Vice grips
Socket, 13mm Wrench, 19mm

Summary

Installation Steps

Remove Spare Tire and Factory Carrier

Remove spare tire and factory carrier to prepare for new support brackets.

Access Brake Light Wiring

Locate and remove the louvered plastic cover for brake light access.

Disconnect Brake Light Connection

Disconnect the quick connect plug running to the brake light.

Remove Original Tire Carrier

Remove eight hex bolts securing the carrier and lift it off the vehicle.

Prepare for Support Brackets

Remove factory weld nuts by threading in a bolt and prying it free.

Install Reinforcement Brackets

Install clip nuts onto reinforcement brackets and align them with door panel holes.

Mount Tire Carrier with Brackets

Lift carrier, align with brackets, and loosely install M8 bolts, washers, and nuts.

Tighten Hardware and Reinstall Panel

Reinstall 8mm fasteners, tighten all hardware, and re-install the louvered panel.

Reconnect Brake Light Wiring

Thread brake light wire back through the hole and reinstall the grommet.

Reconnect Wiring and Panel

Open rear door, reconnect brake light, and replace the louvered panel.

Install Extension Bracket

Place extension bracket over factory lugs and secure with supplied nylock nuts.

Install Spare Tire

Lift spare tire onto mounting lugs and secure with factory lug nuts.
