Installing and Removing a Power Supply
The power supply modules are hot-swappable. Hot swapping allows you to replace a failed power
supply without powering down the Mobility Master hardware appliance during the replacement
process. This makes it unnecessary to shut down the Mobility Master hardware appliance during the
replacement procedure.
Installing a Power Supply Module
To replace the failed power supply module with a new power supply module:
1. Remove the failed power supply module. For more details, see “Removing a Power Supply
Module” on page19
2. Align the new power supply module with the opening in the appliance.
3. Slide the new power supply module into the appliance until the tab securely engages on to the
appliance.
4. Insert the power cord in the AC connector on the power supply module and secure it. For more
details, see “Connecting and Disconnecting the AC Power Cord” on page18.
To replace the filler panel with a new power supply module:
1. Turn the screws on the filler panel counter-clockwise until loose (they cannot be removed
completely).
2. Use the handle on the filler panel to pull it out.
3. Align the new power supply module with the opening in the appliance.
4. Insert the power supply module into the appliance until the tab securely engages on to the
appliance.
5. Insert the power cord in the AC connector on the power supply module and secure it. For more
details, see “Connecting and Disconnecting the AC Power Cord” on page18.
Removing a Power Supply Module
To remove a power supply module from the Mobility Master hardware appliance:
1. Remove the power cord in the AC connector on the power supply module.
Ensure that fan module is correctly aligned with the opening on the appliance. Failure to do so can result in
damage to the fan module.
Use standard ESD precautions when installing or removing a power supply module.
Never insert or remove a power supply module while the power cord is connected to it. Verify that cord has
been disconnected from the power supply before installation or removal.
