This sample
Dialog Box
shows the
name and
attributes
of
an
opened
file.
You see
a
cursor (the
vertical
line) at the
end of
the
filename.
To change
the
filename,
press
the
[Backspace] key
on
the
ST
Computer
keyboard until
the
old name
is
deleted
and the
cursor is
at
the beginning
of the name block. Then type in
the
new
name.
Note: It is generally
best to leave the three-character
extension
on
the
filename
unchanged. If
you do change the extender, you
may
make the
data in that file
inaccessable
to
the
system.
FOLDERS
Folders are neither
programs nor
data;
they are
a
means of
organizing your
icons.
If
you have
a
window that contains
numerous icons, it
can become difficult
to
distinguish any one icon
from the others. Like
any
filing
system, you need
to
organize your
information
to
make it accessible. The
GEM Desktop allows
you to
create folders
in which
to
store your files.
