SYMPTOM CAUSE (AND REMEDY)
No power.
• EnsuretheACpowercordisconnected.
• Theunitisnotturnedon.
The remote control does not function.
• Removeanyobstaclesbetweentheremotecontroland
the unit.
• Usetheremotecontrolneartheunit.
• Point the remote control at theremotesensor on the
unit.
• Replace all batteries in the remote control with new
ones.
DVD
No sound or only a very low-level sound is heard.
• Makesurethatyou’veselectedDVDmode.
• Thesystemisinpausemode.Pressthe
PLAY button
to return to normal play mode.
• Fastforwardorfastreverseisperformed.Pressthe
PLAY button to return to normal play mode.
• The DTS DVD cannot be decoded to have speaker
output.
• Thisunitistoohot.Shutofftheunitfor30minutesto
allow it to cool down.
No picture.
• Theregionnumberofthediscdoesn’tmatchtheregion
number of this unit.
The picture is not clear.
• Cleanthedisc.
• Thediscisscratched.
Severe hum or noise is heard. • Cleanthedisc.
The disc does not play.
• There is no disc inside (“No Disc” appears on the
screen).
• Insertthedisccorrectlywiththelabelsidefacingupon
the disc tray.
• Cleanthedisc.
• Anon-NTSCdischasbeeninserted.Theunitanddisc
region number are incompatible.
• Condensationmayhaveformedinsidetheunitduetoa
sudden change in temperature. Wait about an hour for
it to clear and try again.
TV
Snowy picture, multiple image, picture distorted,
picture blurred and noisy sound.
• Checkantennalocation,directionorconnection.
No color of picture.
• Check the PICTURE SETTING in the TV SETUP
MENU.
No picture and sound.
• NotpluggedintoACoutlet.
• Makesurethatyou’veselectedTVmode.
• Tryanewchanneltocheckforpossiblestationtrouble.
• Makesuretheantennaisconnectedtoproperly.
• Increasethevolume.
