■ The EPN can be remoted over fiber optic cables through
Switch Node Interface (SNI) and Expansion Interface (EI) circuit packs
■ DS1-CONV facilities
Figure 2-1 shows an example of the essential hardware connections for the
Survivable Remote EPN over DS1-CONV facilities.

CAUTION:
Only the TN1654 DS1 CONV circuit pack can be used for DS1-CONV-
remoted SREPN systems.
The “M” in Figure 2-1 indicates the TN775C Maintenance circuit pack that
monitors the status of the fiber link between the Release 9r and the SREPN.
