IfyoudonotknowtheIPaddress,useAXISIPUtilityorAXISDeviceManagertondthedeviceonthenetwork.Ifyou
haveaMaccomputer(OSX),gotoSafari,clickBonjourandselectthedevicefromthedrop-downlist.

IftheAxisproductislocatedonanintranet(LAN)andyouwanttomakeitavailablefromtheother(WAN)sideofaNAT(Network
AddressTranslator)router,turnonNATtraversal.WithNATtraversalproperlycongured,allHTTPtrafctoanexternalHTTPport
intheNATrouterisforwardedtotheproduct.

Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronglyrecommendthatyou:
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
