Thiscameraisdesignedtodeliveruptofourdifferentstreams.Ifafifthuniquestreamisrequested,the
cameracan’tprovideit,andanerrormessageisdisplayed.Theerrormessagedependsonthewaythe
streamisrequested.Thestreamsareusedonafirstcome,firstservedbasis.Examplesofinstances
thatuseastreamare:
•Liveviewinginawebbrowserorotherapplication
•Whilerecording-continuousormotiontriggeredrecording
•Aneventthatusesimagesonthecamera,forexampleaneventthatsendsane-mailwith
animageeveryhour
•Aninstalledandrunningapplication,suchasAXISVideoMotionDetection,willalwaysconsume
avideostream,whetheritisusedornot.Astoppedapplicationdoesnotconsumeavideo
stream.
Thecameracandelivermorethanfoursimultaneousstreamsprovidedtheconfigurationofanyadditional
streamisidenticaltoanyofthefirstfourstreams.Identicalconfigurationimpliesexactlythesame
resolution,framerate,compression,videoformat,rotationetc.Formoreinformationseethewhitepaper

Performanceconsiderations
Whensettingupyoursystem,itisimportanttoconsiderhowvarioussettingsandsituationsaffectthe
performance.Somefactorsaffecttheamountofbandwidth(thebitrate)required,otherscanaffectthe
framerate,andsomeaffectboth.IftheloadontheCPUreachesitsmaximum,thisalsoaffectsthe
framerate.
Thefollowingfactorsarethemostimportanttoconsider:
•Highimageresolutionorlowercompressionlevelsresultinimagescontainingmoredatawhichin
turnaffectsthebandwidth.
•RotatingtheimageintheGUIwillincreasetheproduct'sCPUload.
•AccessbylargenumbersofMotionJPEGorunicastH.264clientsaffectsthebandwidth.
•AccessbylargenumbersofMotionJPEGorunicastH.265clientsaffectsthebandwidth.
