Selectthemicrophonesensitivitylevel(High/Low)dependingonthesoundlevelinthemonitoredarea.Forexample,iftheAxis
productisinstalledinanoisyenvironment,trysettingtheinputsensitivitytoLow.
TheMicrophonepoweroptionprovidesDCpowerforanexternalmicrophone.
Microphonepowershouldonlybeusedwithmicrophonesthathavenobattery.Thissettingshouldnotbeenabledwhenusinga
dynamicorbatterypoweredmicrophone.
Touseaprofessionalmicrophonerequiring48Vphantompower,youneedanexternalpowersupplyandabalanced-unbalanced
converter(audiotransformer)inbetween.
UsetheInputgaintocontrolthevolumeoftheaudioinput.Ifthesoundistoolow,chooseahigherdBvalue,toamplifythe
sound.Ifthesoundistoohigh,choosealowerdBvalue.TheLevelbargivesavisualrepresentationoftheaudiosignallevelindB
relativetothefull-scaleinputlevel.
•Green—thesignalisatagoodlevel.
•Yellow—thesignalisbecomingdistorted.
•Red—thesignalisdistorted.
UsetheEncodingoptiontoselectdigitalaudioencodingformat.
•AACrequiresalicenseforbothencodinganddecoding.AACistheleastcomplicatedandmostwidelyusedcodec.If
achievingthebestpossibleaudioqualityisapriority,AACistherecommendedcodectouse.AnAAClicenseisincluded
intheAxisproduct.
•G711isanunlicensedstandardcodecthatisusefulwhenintegratingaudiointoaVoIPsystem
