COLLECTOR SEAL REPLACEMENT
(For Collector 553-02044)
See Figure 3.
Find a clean work area to perform this procedure.
1. Remove retaining plate cap screws, retaining plate, dust shield o-ring and nylon thrust washer. Separate the
spool and housing by pressing or gently tapping with a plastic mallet and remove wear rings.
2. Clean and inspect the housing bore for any physical signs of damage. NOTE: Polished witness marks from the
seals will be visible, but present no problem unless they show excessive wear.
3. Placingthespooluprightontheworksurface,removeallofthesealsandback-upo-ringsbypushingasmallat
head screw driver through the seal and o-rings, being careful not to scratch any part of the seal groove.
4. Remove the lower nylon thrust washer and lower o-ring. Clean and inspect the spool for any physical damage.
