Detecting multiple cable sheath faults
If there are many cable sheath faults in a cable, there is a voltage gradient around each
fault. This can result in incorrect measurements: A spot between the actual cable faults
similarly shows zero voltage and can be mistaken for a fault.
» To detect this phenomenon, consider the polarity change of the voltage during
fault location.

Pre-locating cable sheath faults more precisely
» To pre-locate the cable sheath faults more precisely, perform a Glaser measuring
bridge measurement. Follow the instructions in the user manual for the bridge
measuring unit.
