Pretest Procedures
Step Procedure
L 1. VehicleIgnition:Key-OFF.
2. Measure the J1939 data link resistance across pins 4 and 5 of the FLR harness connector.
(J1939 High to J1939 Low)
a. If the resistance is between 57 and 63 ohms.
i. Proceed to Step M.
b. If the resistance is greater than 63 ohms or open (Infinite Resistance.)
    i. TestFailed.CheckformissingJ1939datalinkterminatingresistor(s)oropen/loose
connections in the vehicle’s J1939 data link harness. (See Note)
c. If the resistance is less than 57 ohms or near zero.
i. Test Failed. Check for shorted connections in the vehicle’s J1939 data link harness. Unplug all J1939
data link components from the data link to isolate a potential defective component.
