7. INSTALLATION
Keep in mind that for correct installation:
- the boiler must not be put over a stove or other cooking
appliance
- minimum space must be allowed for maintenance
- the system’s pipes must be carefully cleaned to remove any
debris eventually preventing the appliance from working
properly.
Proceed as follows for installation:
- mark 4 holes (Ø 4 mm) for installing the lower crosspiece for
the hydraulic and gas connections;
- fix the lower wall crosspiece and connect water and gas
supply;
- place the cardboard template on the lower crosspiece;
- mark 4 holes (Ø 6 mm) for fixing the support plate;
- check that all the measurements are exact and then fix the
wall support plate;
- use a spirit level to check the support plate is perfectly
horizontal;
- hook the boiler onto the support plate.
7.1 WATER CONNECTION
Position of water connections are given in Fig. 7.1.
A - heating return 3/4"
B - heating delivery 3/4"
C - gas connection 3/4"
D - sanitary outlet 1/2"
E - sanitary inlet 1/2"
It is best to use a water softener if water is harder than
28°Fr, to prevent eventual deposits of limescale in the
boiler due to hard water.
7.2 GAS CONNECTION
Before connecting up the appliance to the gas mains, make
sure that:
- current standard practice has been used
- the type of gas is correct for the boiler. The boiler is supplied
for using natural gas or LPG as indicated on the product’s
nameplate (Sect. 1.4 page 2). If gas has to be transformed
follow Sect. 2.3 page 13. Gas change operations must be
done by the Servicing Centre.
- the pipes are clean.
It is best to install a suitably sized filter on the gas supply if the
mains contain solid particles.
Make sure the joints are completely sealed after
installation as per installation standards.
Do not use gas pipes as earthing for electrical
appliances.
7.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The appliance works on alternating current at 230 V/50 Hz.
It is compulsory to connect up to a reliable earthing system,
according to standard practice.
It is also advisable to connect a neutral phase (L-N).
The manufacturer cannot be held liable for eventual damages
due to failure to install earthing for the system.
It is forbidden to use water pipes as earthing for
electrical appliances.
Proceed as follows for electrical connection:
- unscrew the screws (1 - Fig. 7.3) fixing the control panel to
the case ;
- rotate the control panel downward;
- unscrew the screws (2 - Fig. 7.3) fixing the cover (3 - Fig.
7.3) to the feeder box, then remove it;
- put the electrical cable and eventual T.A. room thermostat
into the special cable holder in the frame (4 - Fig.7.4);
- connect up to electricity supply as shown in APPENDIX
- G page 85; the room thermostat contacts must be gauged
for a voltage of 230V;
- put the feeder cover (3 - Fig. 7.3) back again;
- block the supply cable and eventual room thermostat in the
