Information from your ISP
Before conguring this device, you have to check with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to nd
out what kind of service is provided such as DHCP (Obtain an IP Address Automatically, Static IP
(Fixed IP Address) or PPPoE.
Gather the information as illustrated in the following table and keep it for reference.
PPPoE
VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing, Username, Password, Service
Name, and Domain Name System (DNS) IP address (it can be automatically
assigned by your ISP when you connect or be set manually).
PPPoE / PPPoE
with Pass-through
VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing, Username, Password, Service
Name, and Domain Name System (DNS) IP address (it can be automatically
assigned by your ISP when you connect or be set manually). In addition, an
additional WAN address can be assigned using PPPoE dialer.
PPPoA
VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing, Username, Password and Domain
Name System (DNS) IP address (it can be automatically assigned by your
ISP when you connect or be set manually).
RFC 1483 Bridged VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing to use Bridged Mode.
RFC 1483 Routed
VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing, IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway
address, and Domain Name System (DNS) IP address (it is a xed IP ad-
dress).
IPoA Routed
(IP over ATM)
VPI/VCI, VC / LLC-based multiplexing, IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway
address, and Domain Name System (DNS) IP address (it is a xed IP ad-
dress).
