SB-170-10 73
Connect the power voltage supply of the compressor
protection device to terminals L and N. Required
voltage see name plate of compressor protection
device.
Install a reset button into the cable of the voltage
supply at terminal L.
Integrate the compressor protection device with ter-
minals 11 and 14 into the safety chain of com-
pressor.
Terminal 12 is the signal contact of compressor fault.
Technical data
allowable ambient temperature: -30°C .. +60°C
Allowable relative humidity: 5% .. 95%, non-con-
densing (EN60721-3-3 class 3K3 and 3C3)
Maximum allowable altitude: 2000m
Further information see Technical Information
ST-120.
6.7.4 CM-SW-01
This compressor module incorporated into a separate
module housing from the series HS.85 and CS.105 on.
It is a compressor protection device that integrates the
entire electronic periphery of the compressor. It allows
monitoring the essential operating parameters of the
compressor: motor and discharge gas temperature,
phase and rotation direction monitoring, oil supply and
application limits and thus protects the compressor
from operation under critical conditions. For further in-
formation, see Technical Information ST-150.
!
!
NOTICE
The compressor module may be damaged or
fail!
Never apply any voltage to the terminals of CN7
to CN12 – not even for test purposes!
The voltage applied to the terminals of CN13
must not exceed 10V!
The voltage applied to terminal 3 of CN14 must
not exceed 24V! Do no apply voltage to the
other terminals!
The following components are completely installed and
wired in the state of delivery:
slider position indicator
solenoid valves for capacity control and V
i
low pressure and high pressure transmitter
oil level monitoring (OLC-D1-S)
oil temperature sensor
oil heater (with 230V)
motor temperature monitoring
phase monitoring
rotation direction monitoring
Modification to these components or their wiring is not
required and should not be done without consulting
BITZER.
The compressor module internally supplies voltage to
the peripheral devices (solenoid valves, oil monitoring
device and slider position indicator) and to the terminal
strips CN7 to CN12.
See Technical Information ST-150 for information on all
connections.
6.7.5 SE-i1
This protection device with extended monitoring func-
tions is suitable for the operation with frequency in-
verter (FI) and soft starter with a ramp time less than
1s. It may be incorporated into the terminal box of all
HS. and CS. compressors except for HS.53 and HS.95,
CS.105 and larger models. If it is ordered with the com-
pressor, it is delivered mounted and wired in the ter-
minal box.
Monitoring functions:
motor and discharge gas or oil temperature
short-circuit, line break or sensor failure of motor
temperature monitoring
rotation direction
phase failure and phase asymmetry
maximum cycling rate
For further information, see Technical Information
CT-110.
6.7.6 SE-E3
This protection device may be installed alternatively to
the SE-E1. It is suitable for high power voltage between
600 and 690V ±10%.
Dimensions and integration in the control are
identical to SE-E1.
If the SE-E3 is ordered with the compressor, it is de-
livered mounted and wired in the terminal box.
Monitoring functions are basically identical to those
of SE-E1.
For further information, see Technical Information
ST-120.
