Propulsion System
Contact your dealer if you need assistance with
the operation and features for the tachometer in
your boat.
Speedometer
Speedometers can indicate boat speed via the
engine pickup or an optional GPS or depth sounder
triducer, if these options are installed in your boat.
Some speedometers have an LCD screen that
digitally displays data for specic engine systems
and for functions of some optional equipment.
Keys below the display allow the operator to scroll
through modes and available data monitored by
the display. The functions monitored will vary
depending on the engine and other optional equip-
ment installed on your boat.
Refer to the engine display and electronics operat-
ing manuals for more information on the speed-
ometer options available for your boat.
Temperature Gauge
The temperature gauge indicates the temperature
of the engine cooling system. A sudden increase
in the temperature could signal a blocked cooling
passage or a water pump malfunction.
CONTINUED OPERATION OF AN OVERHEATED ENGINE
CAN RESULT IN ENGINE SEIZURE. IF AN UNUSUALLY HIGH
TEMPERATURE READING OCCURS, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF
IMMEDIATELY. THEN INVESTIGATE AND CORRECT THE
PROBLEM
Oil Pressure Gauge
The oil pressure gauge monitors the engine lubri-
cation system pressure. The oil pressure indicated
when the engine is new is usually the reference
for normal oil pressure for that engine. A drop in
oil pressure is a possible indication of oil pump
problems, a leak or fuel diluted oil.
Fuel Gauge
The fuel gauge indicates the amount of fuel in the
fuel tank. This gauge is merely a relative indication
of the available fuel supply and not a calibrated
instrument.
Voltmeter
The voltmeter displays the voltage for the batter-
ies and the charging system. The normal voltage
is 11 to 12.5 volts with the engine o, and 13 to
14.5 volts with the engine running.
