Electrical System
Heavy Duty Main Circuit Breakers
DC Power is distributed to the accessory breakers
and other main circuits through heavy duty circuit
breakers located in the battery switch panel near the
battery switch. These main circuits are deactivated
when the battery switch is o.
If a heavy duty circuit breaker is tripped by an over-
load, a red or yellow lever will be exposed near the
center of the breaker. Reset the breaker by rotating
the lever until it locks in the horizontal position. The
circuit breaker can be tested by pressing the red
test button.
Notice:
If a main circuit breaker trips, always make
sure the problem that caused the breaker to
trip is found and corrected before resetting
the breaker.
6.6 Engine Control
Systems Circuit Protection
Main Circuit Breakers
Power assist steering and Yamaha or Mercury en-
gines with electronic steering and control systems
are equipped with heavy duty circuit breakers
or fuses for the steering pump and the controls
that protect those components from an overload.
Other heavy duty circuit breakers or fuses protect
the auxiliary charging circuit for some engines.
Circuit protection will vary with each engine instal-
lation as controls and steering systems may be
dierent. Refer to the engine and steering system
owner’s manuals for information on circuit protec-
tion and amperage requirements for the engines
and control systems on your boat.
