9.1 General
All water is drained by gravity to overboard thru-
hull ttings located in the hull above the water
line. It is important to check the drain system
frequently to ensure it is free owing and that the
hoses on the thru-hull ttings are secure and not
leaking. Please review the drainage schematic
to become familiar with the location of the drain
thru-hull ttings.
9.2 Cockpit & Deck Drainage
Cockpit Sole
Your Blackn has four scupper drains located in
the aft system hatch drain rail at the rear of the
cockpit. The scuppers are drained overboard by
thru-hull ttings on each side of the transom. A
ap built into the each thru-hull tting reduces the
surge of seawater through the scupper and into
the cockpit while maneuvering or in rough water.
Water is channeled away from all hatches by a
gutter or drain rail system. The water then drains
overboard through the scupper drain system.
Aft Fishboxes
The shboxes below the rear cockpit sole are
drained overboard by a thru-hull tting and drain
plug in the bottom rear of each box. The drains
are intended to be used when the boat is out of the
water on a trailer, lift or cradle. Always make sure
the plugs are installed before launching the boat.
A pump out system is available as optional equip-
ment. There are two diaphragm pumps, one for
each shbox, located in the aft systems com-
partment that are activated by switches in the
helm switch panel. The pumps drain the boxes
overboard through ttings in the hull sides above
the waterline.
Monitor the water level as the pump drains the
shbox and turn it o immediately when drain-
ing is complete. The pumps could be damaged if
they are allowed to run dry for extended periods.
Prep Station Sink
The sink is drained by gravity to a thru-hull tting
in the hull sides.
