Defi ning an optimum route
You can defi ne the optimum route
yourself by defi ning the relationship
of a time-optimised to distance-op-
timised route. The factory setting
is 60 (fast) to 40 (short).
To defi ne the optimum route:
In the "Route options" menu, mark
and confi rm the "Adjust optimum"
menu item.
The relationship of a time-op-
timised to distance-optimised
route is illustrated by a bar.
Change the relationship by turn-
ing the menu button <.
If a short route is more impor-
tant, select 60/40 or higher; if
a fast route is more important,
select 40/60 or lower.

Switching the dynamic destination
guidance on/off
During a dynamic destination guid-
ance, the navigation system anal-
yses the TMC traffic announce-
ments and incorporates them into
the route planning. The traffi c an-
nouncements are received from
radio stations broadcasting TMC
signals.
To switch the dynamic destination
guidance on/off:
In the "Route options" menu, mark
and confi rm the "Dynamic" menu
item.
You can use the menu button to
activate the dynamic adaptation
of the route to the traffi c situa-
tion (check mark) or deactivate
it (no check mark).
If TMC traffi c announcements are
present that apply to the route,
the route is recalculated. You may
be required to insert the naviga-
tion CD if it is not located in the
CD drive.
In addition, the TMC symbol is
displayed B.
