5.6 Fan Cover
The Fan Cover is optional. It allows soaking ambient air into the instrument. The airflow is from the front to
the back of the reader. The fan ventilating capability has the following advantages:
• to ventilate the reader after long test runs at higher temperatures to remove excessive humidity in
the reader and to avoid corrosion
• to reach desired temperatures for long-term incubation experiments more quickly
• to stabilize the environmental conditions during a measurement close to ambient conditions
The ‘Fan Control’ mode in the Omega readers is only accessible if firmware version 1.30 or higher is
installed and the reader is equipped with a Fan Cover.
