The digital outputs have been realized with high-side switches.
This means that these outputs only can actively supply current.
The energy absorption capacity of
the outputs is used to limit
voltage peaks caused when inductive loads are switched off. Limit
voltage peaks by using free-wheeling diodes directly at the relay
coil.
