No sound

If your TV is
connected to the
interface module
• Make sure the connection between your TV and the interface module is secure. If you are using optical
cable, make sure it is fully inserted into the interface module.
• Check the connections from your source devices to the TV.
• Check to see if the TV is muted. If so, press the TV remote control Mute button to unmute it.
• Check that the TV’s audio output is enabled. See your TV owner’s guide for information.
• Make sure the TV audio is set to FIXED.
• If the TV’s audio output is VARIABLE (VAR), make sure the TV’s internal speakers are turned off and the TV
volume is turned up.
• If the TV’s internal speakers are not turned off, turn the TV volume all the way down.
• Make sure the audio settings on your source devices are correct. Refer to “Connecting a single source
device” on page 13.
• If you are using optical cable between the TV and the interface module, try using a stereo audio cable for that
connection instead. If that works, it may be because your TV is unable to pass the digital audio from your
source devices through its optical connection.

• Make sure your source device is turned on and is playing.
• If you are using optical cable, make sure it is fully inserted into the interface module.
• If the TV’s internal speakers are not turned off, turn the TV volume all the way down, or set it to mute
• Make sure the audio settings on your source device is correct. Refer to “Connecting a single source device”
on page 13.
Sound is distorted • Make sure speaker cables are not damaged and the connections are secure.
• Reduce the audio output level from the TV connected to the interface module.
