Why does my Boss Snowplow RT3 Snow Blower not raise or raise slowly?
    • C
      Cynthia KellySep 13, 2025
If your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower is not raising or is raising slowly, ensure the hydraulic fluid level is within 2 cm (3/4 inch) of the reservoir top when lowered and in the V position. Check and connect any disconnected cables. If the battery is weak, replace it. If the pressure is less than 2,500 psi (at the end of the lift), the motor brushes may be defective, the pump pressure relief valve may be contaminated, damaged, or set too low, or the pump may be worn. Also, the RAISE solenoid valve may not be opening completely, consider replacing it.

What to do if the pump motor does not run on my Boss Snowplow Snow Blower?
    • Q
      qmorganSep 12, 2025
If the pump motor on your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower isn't running, start by checking the cable connections. If they're connected, and voltage is present, the pump motor may have failed or the pump may have seized; consider replacing the motor brushes or the entire pump/motor assembly. If there's no voltage between a large terminal and ground, the cable between the battery and solenoid might be disconnected or broken. If no voltage is present, the solenoid may have failed and need replacement. If voltage is present at the solenoid, check the wire from its small terminal to ground for disconnections or breaks. If there's still no voltage, power from the relay may be disconnected; otherwise, inspect the wiring and controller switches.

What to do if the SmartHitch2 does not attach to the plow on my Boss Snowplow Snow Blower?
    • G
      Gregory CunninghamSep 9, 2025
If the SmartHitch2 does not attach to the plow on your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower, turn the vehicle on and put the controller in the FLOAT position. If this doesn't work, the controller may be malfunctioning and need to be replaced. Also, check the valve block and SmartHitch2 switch for proper connections.

What to do if my Boss Snowplow Snow Blower does not raise or raises slowly?
    • A
      Ashley FoxAug 25, 2025
If your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower plow does not raise or raises slowly, first check the hydraulic-fluid level. If the fluid level is adequate, ensure that the power, ground, and control cables are properly connected. A weak or damaged battery can also cause this issue, so load test the battery and replace if needed. Inspect the motor brushes and replace them if they are worn. Verify that the pump pressure relief valve is set to 172 bar (2,500 psi); if it's lower, or if the valve is contaminated or damaged, clean or replace it. If the issue persists, the pump itself may be worn and require replacement. Finally, check the Raise and Lower control solenoid valves; if either is not opening completely or is stuck open, replace the valve.

Why is fluid running out of the fill cap of the hydraulic pump on my Boss Snowplow Snow Blower?
    • M
      Molly RobertsSep 7, 2025
If fluid is running out of the fill cap of the hydraulic pump on your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower, avoid steeply sloped areas. The hydraulic fluid level should be within 2 cm (3/4 inch) of the top of the reservoir. Also, avoid hitting snowbanks too hard.

Why does the blade on my Boss Snowplow Snow Blower trip too easily?
    • D
      Dennis RodriguezSep 4, 2025
If your Boss Snowplow Snow Blower blade trips too easily, check if the trip springs are loose or damaged. Tighten the springs if they are loose, or replace them if they are damaged. Also, ensure the pushbeam is at the correct height and adjust it if necessary.
