Usage contrary to the intended purpose may result in
accidents causing injury or death.
1.1 Mounting/Fitting & Service
BFO disk brakes have higher braking powers than other braking systems.
Please make sure that all relevant components of your bicycle are
compatible with your BFO brake. Maximum braking power, system weight
(rider + bicycle + baggage (/luggage) + trailer), speed and road condition as
well as the diameter of the rotors determine the load peaks that can affect
other parts and the whole assembly. Please take this into account when
choosing parts/components affected by this matter (fork, frame, hub, quick
release skewer, handlebar and handle stem). Use components of high quality
that are stable as well as/ and technically advanced. Turn to an authorised
bicycle shop/specialty retail trade/specialist retail/specialist trader for advice
regarding safe combinations and sensible/reasonable dimensioning.
BFO disk brakes have extremely high braking powers because of the
patented brake booster. This has a noticeable effect on the pressure point,
which feels softer/more sensitive in comparison to other manufacturers. Be
sure to acquaint yourself carefully with the system, its performance and
modulation.
BrakeForceOne (BFO) disk brakes are exclusively intended for
the mounting/tting on commercial bicycle forks.
the mounting/tting on commercial bicycle frames (also tandem).
Danger of accident through failing disk brake due to incorrect
or inadmissible assembly work.
Don’t overestimate your technical skills. Mounting/tting and service work
should be carried out by an authorised bicycle shop or authorised mechanic
to make sure professional assembly is guaranteed.
Do not try to carry out any modications on your BFO brake under any
circumstances (e.g. ling, drilling, varnishing etc.)/Modications on your
BFO brake should be made under no circumstances (e.g. ling, boring/
drilling, varnishing etc.).
Do not try to disassemble caliper or lever (e.g. brake booster etc.).
Do not try to clean oily pads. Oil contaminated pads should be replaced
immediately.
Always apply bolt adhesive, when re-using screws that had bolt adhesive
applied.
Use original BFO parts only (spare parts, hose, screws, brake uid).
Use BFO original accessories (adapter, rotors, pads) preferentially.
Always follow/adhere the given min./max.-values.
