6.4 Charging complete but self-test not OK
The “CHARGE” indicator light turns green but the “SELF-
TEST” indicator light as well as the indicator on the watch
dial are red.
In this case, the Emergency should not under any circums
-
tances be used as a PLB.
The indicator light on the dial remains red so long as the
watch is on the charger. Once the watch is removed from
the charger, it will remain red, blinking briefly every four
seconds, in order to remind the user that the beacon is
not operating properly. This indicates that the beacon is
malfunctioning. The watch must be taken to an authorized
Breitling service center as soon as possible.
After two months, it typically takes about two hours to
recharge a watch and perform a self-test. Recharging and
self-testing can be done at any time, and will take less time
if done at frequent intervals.
To ensure the reliability and performance of the Emergency,
the first service – free of charge – should be done at the
date mentioned on the back of the watch. After that, the
watch should be serviced every two years at an authorized
Breitling service center.
1. Plug the charger/tester into an outside power source.
The “POWER” indicator light turns green.
2. Place the watch on the charger/tester.
The "CHARGE" indicator light turns red.
The indicator light on the watch dial turns red.
6.3 Charging complete and self-test OK
The “CHARGE” indicator light turns green; while the “SELF-
TEST” indicator light and the indicator light at noon on the
watch dial also turn green.
Once the watch is taken off the charger, the indicator light
on the dial shuts off.
