APPENDIX B – WARRANTY & SERVICE
Warranty
The 871 Series Laser Wavelength Meter is warranted against defects in material and
workmanship for a period of five years from date of shipment for everything except the
HeNe laser, which will be warranted for two years from the date of shipment. During the
warranty period, Bristol Instruments will repair, or at its option, replace parts that prove to
be defective when the instrument is returned prepaid to Bristol Instruments. Before
returning an instrument, always call Bristol Instruments for return authorization. The
warranty will not apply if the instrument has been damaged by accident, misuse, or as a
result of modification by persons other than Bristol Instruments personnel.
It is important to call Bristol Instruments or your local sales representative in advance of
returning the unit for a Return Authorization Number (RA#). This will ensure the prompt
handling of the repair, as well as provide important tracking information.
The liability of Bristol Instruments, (except as to title) arising out of supplying said
product, or its use, whether under the foregoing warranty, a claim of negligence, or
otherwise, shall not in any case exceed the cost of correcting defects in the products as
herein provided. Upon expiration of the warranty period specified herein, all liability shall
terminate. The foregoing shall constitute the sole remedy of the buyer. In no event shall
the seller be liable for consequential or special damages.
Service
There are no user serviceable parts inside the 871 Series Laser Wavelength Meter. All
service and repair work for the instrument is to be done at Bristol Instruments.
