Fuser Error The temperature of fuser unit
does not rise at a specified
temperature within specified time.
Turn the power switch off, wait a few
seconds, and then turn it on again. Leave the
machine for 15 minutes with the power on.
The MFC-7450, MFC-7840N and MFC-
7840W can be turned off for up to 4 days
without losing faxes stored in the memory.

The fuser unit is too hot.

The machine has a mechanical
problem.
Do one of the following:
 (MFC-7340 and MFC-7440N only)
See Transferring your faxes or Fax
Journal report on page 118 before
disconnecting the machine so you will
not lose any important messages.
Then, disconnect the machine from the
power for several minutes and then
reconnect it.
 (MFC-7450, MFC-7840N and MFC-
7840W only)
Disconnect the machine from the power
for several minutes, then reconnect it.
(The machine can be turned off for up to
4 days without losing faxes stored in the
memory. See Transferring your faxes or
Fax Journal report on page 118.)
Jam Rear The paper is jammed in the back
of the machine.

Jam Inside The paper is jammed inside the
machine.

Jam Tray The paper is jammed in the paper
tray of the machine.
(See Paper jams on page 121.)
No Paper The machine is out of paper or
paper is not correctly loaded in
the paper tray.
Do one of the following:
 Refill the paper in the paper tray, and
then press Start.
 Remove the paper and load it again, and
then press Start.
No Response/Busy The number you dialled does not
answer or is busy.
Verify the number and try again.
Not Registered You tried to access a One Touch
or Speed Dial number that is not
programmed.
Set up the One Touch or Speed Dial
number.
