56 3-1 Keys and Doors
■ Please lock the three doors other than the driver's door before locking the
driver's door with the mechanical key.
■ To get into the vehicle, unlock the driver's door with the mechanical key.
After getting into the vehicle, operate the interior door handles twice to
unlock other doors.
● Avoid applying excessive force that may deform or fracture the key in
operation.
PEPS System
With an electronic intelligent key carried with you, you can unlock or lock doors.
Entry function
It is used to unlock and lock doors. For details, please refer to
"Locking/unlocking with microswitch" in this chapter.
Start function
With an electronic intelligent key inside
the vehicle, the vehicle can be
started/stopped.
When the START/STOP button is pressed and the starting function
cannot work normally, it may be caused by the following reasons:
■ If the electronic intelligent key does not work, its battery may have run out.
In this case, replace the intelligent key battery as soon as possible.
■ If you need to start the vehicle repeatedly in a short time, wait for 10s
before each vehicle starting cycle.
■ When the steering wheel is locked, press the START/STOP button and
slightly shake the steering wheel at the same time.
