PREMIERLINK CONTROL
C08199
Fig. 60 -- PremierLink Controller
The PremierLink c ontroller (see Fig. 60) is compatible
with Carrier Comfort Networkr (CCN) devices. This
control is designed to allow users the access and ability to
change factory--defined settings, thus expanding the
function of the standard unit control board. CCN service
access tools include System Pilott, Touch Pilott and
Service Tool. Standard tier display tools, Navigatort and
Scrolling Marquee, are not suitable for use with the latest
PremierLink controller (Version 2.x).
The Prem ierLink control is factory--mounted in the unit’s
main control box to the left of the LCTB. Factory wiring
is completed through harnesses connected to the LCTB
thermostat. Field connections are made at a 16--pole
terminal block (TB1) located on the bottom shelf of the
unit control box in front of the PremierLink cont roller The
factory--installed PremierLink control include s the
supply--air temperature (SAT) sensor. The outdoor air
temperature (OAT) sensor is included in the
FIOP/accessory EconoMi$er 2 package.

RTU --OPEN CONTROL SYSTEM
The RTU Open controller is an integrated component of the
Carrier roof top unit. Its internal application programmin g
prov id es optimum perfo rman ce and energy eff iciency. RTU
Open enables the unit to run in 100% stand--alone control
mode, Carrier’s I--Vu Open network, or a Third Party
Buildin g Auto mation System (BAS ) . On--board DIP
switches allow you to select your protocol (and baud rate) of
choice among the four most popular protocols in use today:
BACnet, Modbus, Johnson N2 and LonWorks.
The RTU Open control is factory--mounted in the unit’s
main control box, to the left of the Light Commercial
Terminal Board (LCTB). Factory wiring is completed
through harnesses connected to the LCTB. Field
connec tions for RTU Open sensors will be made at the
Phoenix connectors on the RT U Open boa rd. The
factory--installed RTU Open control includes the
supply--air temperature (SAT) sensor. The outdoor air
temperature (OAT) sensor is included in the
FIOP/accessory EconoMi$er2 package.
SENSORY/ACCESSORY
INSTALLATION
There are a variety of sensors and accessories available
for the RTU-OPEN. Some of these can be factory or field
installed, while others are only field installable. The
RTU-OPEN controller ma y also require connect ion to a
building network system or building zoning system. All
field control wiring that connects t o the RTU-OPEN must
be routed through the raceway built into the corner post of
the uni t or secured to the unit control box with electri cal
conduit. The unit raceway provides the UL required
clearance between high and low-voltage wiring. Pass the
control wires through the hole provided in the corner post,
then feed the wires thorough the raceway to the
RTU-OPEN. Connect the wires to the removable Phoenix
connec tors and then reconnec t the connectors to the board.
IMPORTANT: Refer to the specific sensor or accessory
instructions for its proper instal lation and for rooftop unit
