Using Peripherals
This section explains use of the various peripherals that are available for use with the
CASSIOPEIA.
Using the AC Adapter
You can use the AC adapter to directly power the CASSIOPEIA or to supply power
through the cradle. The battery pack charges while the CASSIOPEIA is directly
connected to a power source by the AC adapter or while it is on the cradle.
See “Charging the Battery Pack on the CASSIOPEIA” on page 27 for more
information about battery pack charging.
Direct Connection
Cradle Connection
Warning
Use only the AC adapter that is specified for this unit. Use of another type of AC
adapter creates the risk of malfunction and bursting of the battery pack.
Important
The CASSIOPEIA will not operate under AC power while the battery pack attached
to it is dead. Wait for a while to allow the battery pack to charge before using the
CASSIOPEIA.
Long-term use of the AC adapter can cause it to become warm to the touch. This is
normal and does not indicate malfunction.
Be sure to unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet whenever you are not using it.
The AC adapter is designed for indoor use only. Never use it outdoors.
