MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
The HUD is equipped with an ambient photoelectric light sensor that analyses the
surrounding ambient light conditions and automatically adjusts the intensity of the
LEDs
to ensure they are easy to see.
Under bright light conditions, the bright part of the oscillation cycle is at
maximum
intensity. When in medium light surroundings, the bright part of the
oscillation cycle is at
a lower intensity to ensure they don’t blind the operator.
Pressing the green RESET buttons will illuminate the LEDs at any time if the lights are
dimmed.
While this feature is called oscillating mode, it cannot be turned
off.
The HUD LEDs are not displayed brightly continuously for the
following
reasons.
Increased ‘in mask’ glare in low light or no light environments.
Tendency to ignore lights that are constantly on. Lights that oscillate or
brighten when the status changes are more likely to attract the
operator’s attention
Voice projection speaker
The voice projection speaker is located on the left shoulder strap; it amplifies and
clarifies speech from the facemask during use. Inhalation sounds when breathing
are
not amplified. Amplified speech outputs at a minimum of 75 decibels.
