Link Aggreg at ion
The Link Aggregation standard defines how two or more Ethernet connections can be
combined to provide load sharing, load balancing, and provide better reliability for
high-traffic network connections.
The standard also provides inherent, automatic redundancy on point-to-point links. This
is accomplished by dynamically redirecting traffic from a failed port (in a multi-port
application) across the remaining good ports in the link.
Orderable Part Number Summary
This section provides a summary of all the orderable part numbers associated with the
CN 3960.
The CN 3960 chassis comes empty. The following items need to be ordered separately:
•
2 power supplies (AC or DC)
•
2 AC power cord(s), if applicable
•
4 XFPs for the 10 Gigabit ports
•
8 SFPs for the 100/1000 Mbps ports
You will also need to supply:
•
Faceplate cabling to suit your installation
•
Grounding lug and grounding wire (see the
Supplemental ground
section on page 11
