Smoke and Fume Elimination
1. Air Conditioner (if installed)......................................................OFF
2. Temperature Selector............................................................ COLD
3. Vent Selector......................... FEET/PANEL/DEFROST POSITION
4. Airflow Selector ...............................SET AIRFLOW TO MAXIMUM
If source of smoke and fume is firewall forward:
a. Airflow Selector .................................................................OFF
5. Panel Eyeball Outlets............................................................OPEN
6. Prepare to land as soon as possible.
Amplification
If smoke and/or fumes are detected in the cabin, check the engine
parameters for any sign of malfunction. If a fuel leak has occurred,
actuation of electrical components may cause a fire. If there is a strong
smell of fuel in the cockpit, divert to the nearest suitable landing field.
Perform Forced Landings Checklist and shut down the fuel supply to
the engine once a safe landing is assured.
