Supported Hardware
SIP-400 Combinations
The SIP-400 linecard supports an aggregate forwarding rate of approximately 6 Mpps. Packet
forwarding is done by microcode on the network processors so enabling datapath features may reduce
performance.
For release 12.2(33)SRA, the total supported bandwidth for the SIP-400 is 4 Gigabits line rate for
Ethernet and 2.5 Gigabits line rate for SONET with selected services. There is no oversubscription
support. The product ordering tools would prevent combination of SPAs that add up to more than this
bandwidth and would reject such configurations.
For release 12.2(33)SRB and above, the following SPA combinations are supported on SIP-400:
• Any mix of POS, ATM, CEoP and serial SPAs up to an aggregate of OC-48
• One SPA-2X1GE SPA plus POS, ATM, CEoP, or Serial SPAs up to an aggregate of OC-24
• Two SPA-2X1GE SPAs
• Two SPA-5X1GE-V2 SPAs (oversubscribed)
• One SPA-1X10GE-L-V2 SPA (oversubscribed)
For release 12.2(33)SRD and above, the following SPA combinations are supported on SIP-400:
• Four SPA-4X1FE-TX-V2
• Two SPA-8X1FE-TX-V2
Refer to Shared Port Adapters (SPAs), page 60 for the minimum release required to support each SPA
type.
