Preparation pan
The preparation pan is the first part of the cleaning system that the grain will come into
contact with. It’s function is to separate the grain and the chaff. The grain is heavier and
therefore goes to the bottom, the lighter chaff goes to the top. It is important that this is
kept clean, to allow this to happen effectively. A dirty preparation pan will cause a poor
sample and reduce output.
