The number shown represents the grain per meter squared
at 1% grain loss calculated as hectares not acres!!
Basis for an exact calculation:
Place the grain loss tray (i.e. 0.5m x 0.5m = 0.25 meter squared) under the
machine while working under full load. Then shake out the grains from the straw
above the tray and count the grains collected in the tray. The number of grains
found in a meter square tray has to be multiplied by 4 to get the grain loss by per
1 meter square. The calculated grain compares to the values given in the table
(chopping or Swathing) depending on cutterbar width.
