Chdir
Synonym:
cd
Purpose:
Changes a directory
to
a different path; displays
the
working
directory.
Syntax:
Ll
chdir
[path
I
Comments:
If
your
working directory is \ user \
emily
and
you
want
to
change
your
path
to
another
directory
(such
as
\user\pete),
type
the
fol-
lowing
command
and press
the
RETURN key:
chdir
\user\pete
MS·DOS
puts
you in
the
new
directory.
There
is also a
shorthand
notation for
the
chdir
command:
cd
..
This
command
always puts you in the
parent
directory
of
your
working directory.
Examples:
If
you
use
chdir
without
a path, you
can
display
the
name
of
your
working
directory. For example,
if
your
working
directory
is
\user\pete
on
drive
B,
and
you type
the
chdir
command,
then
press
the
RETURN key, MS·DOS displays
the
following:
b:\user\pete
The

the
