Commissioning of a solar high-efficiency pump
with PWM speed control
1. When the solar circuit of the system has been filled
and vented, switch on the correctly connected solar HE
pump by using the manual mode.
2. In the Arrangement / Expert / Relay menu, adjust
the signal type and the PWM profile for the pump (see
page 111).
3. Decrease the maximum speed until the flow rate
desired for the solar circuit is reached at the unthrottled
flowmeter.
For COSMO 251/254 flat plate collectors, the recom-
mended flow rate value is 1.25 l/min per collector.
Example: With 4 COSMO 251/254 flat plate collectors,
the flow rate at the correspondingly adjusted maximum
speed should be 5 l/min.
If there are several solar HE pumps in the solar circuit
(e. g. in systems with east-/west collectors are multiple
stores), repeat this step for for each of the pumps.
Note: During these adjustments, the collector tempe-
rature should not be higher than 40 °C.
After carrying out these steps, set the pump(s) back to
automatic operation in the manual mode menu.
