CHANGING THE TRANSMISSION DRIVE BELT
Severalcomponentsmustbe removedand specialtoolsusedinorder
tochangethe tractor'stransmissiondrivebelt.Seea Searsorother
qualifiedservicedealerto havethetransmissiondrivebeltreplaced.
CUTTING BLADES
Shuttheengineoff andremoveignitionkeybeforeremovingthe
cuttingblade(s)forsharpeningor replacement.Protectyourhands
usingheavygloveswhengraspingthe blade.
Periodicallyinspectthebladeand/orspindleforcracksordamage,
especiallyafter you'vestrucka foreignobject.Do notoperatethe
machineuntildamagedcomponentsare replaced.
Toremovetheblades,proceedas follows:
1. Removethe deckfrombeneaththe tractor,(referto CuttingDeck
Removalearlierinthissection)thengentlyflip thedeckoverto
exposeitsunderside.
2. Placea blockofwoodbetweenthecenterdeckhousingbaffle
andthe cuttingbladeto actas a stabilizer.
