iGNiTiON SWITCH MODULE
Tostarttheengine,insertthe keyinto
theignitionswitchand turnclockwise
tothe STARTposition.Releasethe key
intothe NORMALMOWINGMODE
positiononcetheenginehas fired.
Tostoptheengine,turnthe ignitionkey
counterclockwisetothe STOPposition.
REVERSE PUSH
SUTTON
(BladeEngageknob),setparkingbrake,stopengineand remove
topreventunintendedstarting.
Priortooperatingthetractor,referto bothSafetyInterlockSwitches
andStartingThe Engineinthe Operationsectionof thismanual
fordetailedinstructionsregardingthe IgnitionSwitchModuleand
[operatngthetractor n REVERSECAUTONMODE.
DRIVE PEDAL
Thedrivepedalis locatedon therightsideof
thetractor,alongthe runningboard.Pressthe
drivepedalforwardtocausethetractortotravel
forward.Groundspeedisalsocontrolledwith
thedrivepedal.Thefurtherforwardthe pedalis
pivoted,thefasterthetractorwilltravel.The pedal
willreturnto itsoriginalpositionwhenit'snot
pressed.
REVERSE PEDAL
Thereversepedalislocatedonthe right sideofthe
tractoralongthe runningboard. Groundspeedis
alsocontrolledwiththe reversepedal.Thefurther
downwardthe pedalispivoted,the fasterthe
tractorwilltravel.Thepedalwillreturnto itsoriginal
positionwhenit'snotpressed.

SYSTEMS INDICATOR MONITOR/HOUR
METER LCD
Whentheignitionkeyis
rotatedout of the STOP
positionbutnot intothe START
position,thesystem'sindicator
monitordisplaysthebattery's
output,involts,on itsLCDfor
approximatelyfiveseconds,
afterwhichitdisplaysan hour
glassandthehoursof tractor
operation.Oncethetractoris
started,themonitorcontinually
displaysan hourglassandthe

hoursoftractoroperationon itsLCD.
NOTE:Hoursof tractoroperationarerecordedanytimethe ignition
keyis rotatedout of the STOPposition,regardlessof whetherthe
engineis started.
TheIndicatorMonitorwillalso remindthe operatorof maintenance
intervalsfor changingtheengineoil.The LCDwill alternatelyflash
the recordedhours,"CHG"and"OIL."forfiveminutes,afterevery50
hoursof recordedoperationelapse.Themaintenanceintervallasts
fortwo hours(from50-52,100-102,150-152,etc.).The LCDwill also
flashas describedabovefor fiveminuteseverytimethe tractor's
enginehasbeenstartedduringthismaintenanceinterval.Beforethe
intervalexpires,changetheengineoilas instructedintheServiceand
Maintenancesectionof thisOperator'sManual.
Brake
ifthe Brakelightilluminateswhenattemptingto startthe tractor's
engine,depressthebrakepedal.
PTO (Blade Engage)
Ifthe PTOlightilluminateswhenattemptingto startthetractor's
engine,movePTOknobintothedisengaged(OFF)position.
Oil
Itis normalforthe Oillightto illuminatewhiletheengineiscranking
duringstart-up,but ifit illuminatesduringoperation,whiletheengineis
running,stopthetractorimmediatelyandcheckthe engineoil levelas
instructedinthis Operator'sManual.
Battery
Itis normalfor theBatterylightto illuminatewhilethe engineis
crankingduringstart-up,butifit illuminatesduringoperation,whilethe
engineis running,thebatteryis inneedof a chargeorthe engine's
chargingsystemisnotgeneratingsufficientamperage.Chargethe
batteryasinstructedin theServicesectionof thismanualor havethe
chargingsystemcheckedbyaSearsor otherqualifiedservicedealer.
