ADJUSTMENTS
Shuttheengineoff, removethe ignitionkeyandengagetheparking
brakebeforemakingadjustments.Protectyourhandsby usingheavy
gloveswhenhandlingtheblades.

levelingadjustments.RefertoTireson page23 for informationregard-
ingtirepressure.
Leveling the Deck (Front To Rear)
Thefrontofthecuttingdeckis supportedby a stabilizerbarthatcan
beadjustedto levelthe deckfromfrontto rear.The frontof thedeck
shouldbe between1/4"and3/8"lowerthan the rearof the deck.Adjust
ifnecessaryasfollows:
1. Parkthe tractorparkedon afirm, levelsurfaceand placethe deck
liftleverinthe middleposition.
2. Rotatethe bladenearestthe dischargechutecoversothat it is
parallelwiththe tractor.
3. Measurethedistancefromthe frontofthe bladetip tothe ground
andthe rearof thebladetip tothe ground.Thefirst measurement
takenshouldbebetween1/4"and3/8"lessthanthe second
measurement.
Determinethe approximatedistancenecessaryfor properadjustment
and proceed,ifnecessary.
1. Loosen(threadoutward)the hexlocknutontheendofthedeck
hangerrod.SeeFigure22.

hexnutagainstthefronthangerbracket.
3. To Iowerthe frontof thedeck,loosen(threadoutward)thehex
nut,awayfromthe fronthangerbracket.
