Moving The Tractor Manually
Yourtractor'stransmissionisequippedwitha hydrostaticreliefvalve
foroccasionswhenitis necessaryto movethe tractormanually.Open-
ingthisvalvepermitsthe fluidin thetransmissionto bypassits normal
route,allowingthereartiresto "freewheel."Toopenthe hydrostatic
reliefvalve,proceedasfollows:
1. Locatethe hydrostaticbypassrodinthe rearofthetractor.See
Figure1.
Shipping Brace Removal
Makesurethelawntractor'sengineisoff,settheparkingbrakeand
removethe ignitionkeybeforeremovingthe shippingbrace.
1. Locatethe shippingbrace,ifpresent,andwarningtag foundon
the rightsideof the cuttingdeck.SeeFigure2.

2. Pullthehydrostaticbypassrodoutward,thendown,tolockit in
place.
NOTE:Thetransmissionwill NOTengagewhenthehydrostatic
bypassrodis pulledout. Returnthe rodto itsnormalpositionpriorto
operatingthetractor.

Whileholdingthedischargechutecoverwithyourleft hand,
removethe shippingbracewithyourright handbygraspingit
betweenyourthumband indexfingerand rotatingit clockwise.
Theshippingbraceis usedfor packagingpurposesonly.Removeant
discardtheshippingbracebeforeoperatingyour lawntractor.
Neverattemptto movethetractormanuallywithoutfirst openingthe
hydrostaticreliefvalve.Doingsowill resultinseriousdamageto the
tractor'stransmission.
Themowingdeckis capableof throwingobjects.Operatingtheriding
mowerwithoutthedischargecoverin theproperoperatingposition
couldresultin seriouspersonalinjuryand/orpropertydamage.
