4-2 Connectors and Settings
JP5 TAD (Telephone Answering Device) (found only on those
models that support Sound Blaster Interface): Some sound cards
support a TAD connection from the modem directly to the sound card
(it has less functionality than the SB connector). If your sound card
supports this function you can connect a 4 pin cable from the TAD to
your sound card. Please ensure Pin 1 is connected together on both
cards.
JP6 & 7 (Internal Speaker) (found only on those models that
support Sound Blaster Interface): To activate internal speaker,
place jumper shunts on pins 2 & 3 of both JP6 and JP7. To disable the
internal speaker remove all jumper shunts from JP6 and JP7.
